Both the 40km “Ride Around the Lake” and “10km Lake Ride) begin at Lakeside Park, Kanahooka.
The initial 4km follow the scenic lakeside cycle path to Tallawarra Power station, where the 10km turns left through the car park for an additional 1km to the meet the Lake cycle path end, and returns the same way.
40km “Ride Around The Lake” riders, head right from the car park onto Tallawarra Road and proceed to Yallah on the closed left cycle lane. Passing the “Woolshed” and Lighthouse Youth Homestead, the 9km mark.
Riders are than directed left back onto the cycle path (Macquire Rivulet Bridge), making their way along the cycle path and suburban streets of Oakflats, and Albion Park to the mid-point aid station on Reddle Reserve Windang Bridge.
Riders cross Windang bridge (cycle path) and wind their way on the mostly lakeside cycle path / quiet roads to Holbron Park aid station (30km) at Berkeley.
The final 10km maintains a mostly cycle path and residential street course back Lakeside Park Kanahooka, passing Kembla Grange Race Course.
Whilst most of the course follows the cycle path and adjoining residential roads there are some key sections on busier roads. These sections will require strict adherence to the Event Course Marshals and Traffic Controllers, riders must also remain in the left lane.
All riders must ensure their fitness and cycling skills are suitable to cover the 40km course in the 3hour 30minute time restriction.

Entry includes a professionally run event which covers Insurance*. The ride is escorted and has more than 50 Course Marshals, Traffic Controllers, and Signage to direct you throughout the ride. First Aid is provided both Mobile and at other designated positions. You will receive an Event Identification Bib, on course services, an assistance ‘wagon’ will be on course in case you need assistance, water stations, and bike mechanic. At the Finish there will refreshments, coffee, BBQ, other food stall and amenities. There will entertainment including the children’s zone and a DJ, it will be and a fun atmosphere for everyone to enjoy with all proceeds going to charity so make sure you bring some money so you can join in on the fun.
*Ride Around the Lake is covered by its own public liability insurance. This does not include personal accident insurance. It is strongly recommended that you take out your own personal accident and ambulance cover for the Event. Your private health insurance policy may include this, however you will need to check this specifically with your private health insurer

Get your friends, workmates, gym friends or family together and enter a team. Riding Around the Lake as a group would be fun! So nominate as a business, family, fitness or group of any name and join the fun. Creating groups is easy, and simply requires one person to set the group up at the time of entry. Each subsequent person can nominate to join the group and cover their own fee.
Ride Around the Lake will proceed in all conditions, so it is advised riders take all weather gear for changes in weather during the ride. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel the event or modify the course due to safety reasons, if the Course Director deems that riders will be at extreme risk. In such case the decision will be made by the Course Director on the morning of the event or in extreme cases the night before. This information will be communicated via social media, traditional media and where possible participant email. In the event of cancellation riders will forfeit their entry fees.

1. Collect your entry number!
Go to marquees with ‘registration’ located next to the children’s playground (and opposite the small row of shops).
2. Secure your identification number to the back of your shirt.
3. IDENTIFICATION- all riders in the 40km must have identification with them
4. Last minute Check your bike and helmet
5. Ensure you have your mobile phone, spare tire change, refreshments and water.
